DP, two initiatives for the CEZ affair

Fourteen months ago, the opposition leader, Lulzim Basha, declared that
the CEZ affair could be considered the biggest theft of the century. The
government had considered the case reconciled, but the opposition sees
it as a criminal act that removes Albania all chances to win the trial
against CEZ for 500 million EUR of obligations, and 3 billion USD of
damage caused by the distribution operator.

Basha said 14 months ago that the opposition will use all legal instruments to stop this agreement between the government and CEZ, which would enter in effect on October 17th 2014. But now that the case has been reopened, the opposition has done nothing of what they had promised.

However, the DP said they will make an appeal against this agreement at the Constitutional Court, The next step of the opposition is making real the initiative of the opposition leader for an international investigation. The opposition is expected to hand over the draft law this Monday.

The DP is convinced that Edi Rama and Ilir Meta are doing everything possible to close this case, which, according to the opposition, is proving the direct involvement of the government coalition in the biggest corruption scheme of the history of our country.

The DP reminds that during the Berisha government, CEZ and DIA leaders were sued for criminal acts, but this action was undone after Edi Rama came to power and Albania withdrew from the arbitrage.
