Kolonja is known as an area that votes for the left center, and the
Democratic Party has never won elections there. At least not in Erseka,
where there is a higher concentration of votes.
Top Channel credible sources confirmed that there will be no DP candidate for the early local elections in this area, after Mayor Arben Malo passed away. The candidate will come from the Agrarian Party of Agron Duka, the new ally of the Democratic Party in opposition, but that has been politically active with the Socialist Party in the past.
This will allow the DP to not be exposed too much in case of a possible loss, which wouldn’t be a surprise. Top Channel has learned that the person in question is the brother of the former Socialist MP, Sokol Hajro.
