The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, rejected the government’s
declaration about the economic and financial situation of our country,
saying that creating a psychological panic is part of the majority’s
strategy to abuse with taxes and customs.

“Prime Minister Rama is trying to create a situation of degraded economy, but the Albanian economy was able to resist to the global crisis”, Basha commented.

“Although it was true that the fiscal revenues for the first eight months of this year have had a significant drop, the Albanian economy didn’t fall into recession and everything else are just lies. As regards the debt, it has been we administered”, the Democratic Party leader declared.

According to Basha, all insinuations for the existence of a hidden debt is just a justification. “There is no hidden debt. Some construction firms have really advanced faster with their works so that they can take other tenders, but the state has always paid them regularly and it is not a debt”, Basha declared.

“Rama’s strategy is to lie so that he can abuse with the finances and customs. However, we are decided to defend the Albanian economy from the panic that the Prime Minister is creating, and from the abuses that he is preparing”, Basha declared.

As Mayor of Tirana, Basha commented the recent decision of the National Council of Territory for canceling the construction permit of the polyfunctional center, which was about to be built together with Tirana’s new mosque.

“The agreement with the land owners was to build the mosque on their property in exchange of a permit to build a polyfunctional center. Now that it will be blocked, the construction of the mosque is also blocked, legally”, Basha declared.
