The Democratic Party MP, Jorida Tabaku, wrote on Facebook that the Eurobond that the government has borrowed is part of the national debt.
“The Minister of Finances either doesn’t understand it, or he is trying to play games”, she said after Minister Ahmetaj said that this Eurobond doesn’t affect the national debt.
Tabaku said that Rama and Ahmetaj failed to explain the buyback (borrowing to repay an old debt) to increase the quota in the market: “The buyback was bought with a price of 109.75 when the price had been dropping for six months. If they had waited longer, the cost would have been 224.1 million EUR. But the government moved prematurely and the cost of the purchase was today 236.6 million EUR, a loss of 12.5 million EUR”, Tabaku said.
