The opposition accused the government of ordering school directors to
organize students and use them for decoration in the activities
organized by the government for the Summer Day.
“Rama is breaking one of his electoral promises, in which he said that schools would never be used politically, but this remained a pathetic effort. The public opinion and all Albanians know that Edi Rama is facing the coldest and loneliest winter in this Summer Day. That’s because he has given up from the electoral promises, has failed to create new jobs, and has obliged businesses to cut their staff. He lost the historic chance to receive the status and has constantly created political and social conflicts in our country”, declared the Democratic Party Spokesperson, Laura Vorpsi.
The Socialist Party reacted by saying that there is no such order and that the Democratic Party statement is untrue.
“We are surprised by the declaration of the Democratic Party, since we expected the opposition to congratulate us for organizing this activity. The congratulations should come especially because the Tirana Municipality has closed their activities for our capital, because the former Democratic Party leader has sent the current Mayor to take care of matters at the Democratic Party headquarters. There is no decision to open schools tomorrow, or to use students for government activities. On the contrary, it was the previous government, the opposition of today, which has fresh memories of political meetings filled with students. They took them out of their daily life of school and turned them into decoration for their speeches”, declared the Socialist Party Parliament Member, Olta Xhacka.
