The voting process for the new Democratic Party leader continued with a
few problems in the members’ list. Top Channel noted that the main
problem in sections 8, 9 and 11 in Tirana was the inability to find a
name in the voters’ list.
According to the voting center members, this problem was verified after many members had not renewed their membership cards, what brought their failure to be included in the voters list.
Another reason, according to them, was the transfer of the members to other cities and not registering this at the Democratic Party.
Even in the Democratic Party election, people were unable to quit the old Albanian bad tradition of collective voting, one person voting for several hours.
But the main concern was the one regarding the voting paper.
According to what the members signaled, every ballot had the serial number which increased suspects that the vote of every member could be easily identified, since the observers signed the list number beside their names.
This could make it easy to tell what candidate voted each member. This concern was spread throughout the country and not only in Tirana, and it can be considered as some sort of pressure against the membership.
