The Democratic Party considered the huge amounts of goods passing
through customs in December as a robbery of the Albanian people through
cigarettes and fuels, which have been rushed before the new tax entered
in effect in January, making the merchants profit more.
The opposition declared that the Albanian people will pay for what the government considered as a historic achievement.
“Cigarettes and fuels passed customs in huge amounts before January, so that merchants can avoid the new tax of this year and sell it with the new price, profiting more. This money not only will not enter in the budget, but the people will be robbed even more”, declared the Democratic Party Parliament Member, Florion Mima.
The Democratic Party even accused the government of cooperating in this robbery.
“We have reason to believe that this has been directed by the government. The main consultant of this agency is obliged to investigate this corruptive scheme and avoid taxes in millions of USD. His duty is to propose the same measures or actions for guaranteeing that the money goes for the Albanian people and not the corrupted government leaders”, Mima declared.
