DP, Ristani: “Government must compensate citizens”

The Democratic Party accused the government of neglecting the flood
situation. Arben Ristani said the opposition will ask the government to
compensate citizens.
“Our people is suffering from floods as they have never suffered in the past 20 years. This government has not done anything. They have left the pumps without energy. Citizens are left on God’s hand because the government and Edi Rama don’t mind their problems. The DP will ask them to be held accountable until the end. The government owes a complete compensation. We will be with them until it happens”, Rama declared.
He accused the government of removing 5 million USD from the investment fund foreseen for canalization and drainage systems.
“The Minister of Agriculture declared the water pumps were not working because the lack of energy. This is the government’s hand of responsibility, a criminal hand that needs to be investigated with urgency and brought to justice for what they have done to the people’s property. The other hand of this government has removed the funds that were to be used for drainage and canalization. Five million USD could have saved hundreds of families from water and mud”, Ristani declared.
