DP, Ristani: “Albanian police left out of international operation”

The Democratic Party MP, Arben Ristani, said that the Albanian police
was left out of the international operation against the Albanian drug
gang.

“Minister Tahiri was left out of the international operation organized by the Greek police, the US DEA and other EU forces, due to the direct ties with who the media and CNN have called ‘the Escobar of Balkan’”, Ristani declared.

According to him, Tahiri, Rama and their police Chiefs were part of this operation and damaged it, by helping their trusted man, Kelmend Balili, escape the arrest.

“The contradictory stances held by the police regarding the investigations, show they have been compromised due to the ties of Balilaj with high-level politicians, especially Tahiri. The Greek police has released an arrest order, with Klement Balili’s name and surname on it, named as one of the leaders of this international drug traffic. But the Albanian police say they don’t know if this person is under investigation”, Ristani said.

He underlined that although most of the gang members were arrested, the Police has not boasted of any successful cooperation with international partners, as they  usually do, as they rushed to call this operation before the data were not made public yet.

“The only explanation is that the Albanian authorities were left out because Balili had ties with high-level politicians and the drug traffic. The connection and protection Balili has in government, is the Minister of Interior, Saimir Tahiri, known as the shield of traffickers and criminals for the past three years, starting from Viluni, Habilaj, Durim Bami, Shullazi, Mark and Arben Frroku, and now Balil;i. His ties with crime are now known by the European and US partners. It is urgent to have him resign and have him undergo a complete investigation for criminal ties”, Ristani said.
