The Democratic Party declared that they will be present at the meeting
for the judiciary reform, which will be led by President Bujar Nishani
on October 6th.
This stance was declared by the opposition MP, Eduard Halimi, who said that the reform must be all-inclusive, despite the number of seats that the government has.
“The meeting summoned by the President creates the necessary EU conditions for the justice reform, which should be all-inclusive and guarantee the European standards. I believe that this can progress with the guide of international expertise, by keeping the judiciary untouched by politics. The EU has made it clear that they will not be successful without the participation of all parties”.
Halimi declared that the justice reform should be long term, but under the guidance of the international experts from the EU.
“The government doesn’t have any strategic document, since the only strategy of the Prime Minister is to remove judges that he can command”, he declared.
