The Democratic Party declared that the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, is living among luxury in a 40 million ALL villa, and he doesn’t think about students and children who get to feed once a day.
The Spokesperson for the Democratic Party, Ina Zhupa, accused the Prime Minister of using his wife as a shield to hide his assets.
“Edi Rama started his career with 10 million ALL and today, the value of his house in Surrel is 40 million ALL. He says that the land was bought by his wife. The wedding was made with his wife’s savings, and the luxury home was built with her savings as well. He has also used her name for banks with ghost owners in fiscal paradises. Edi Rama has made the most cowardly choice by using his wife as a shield. He has the obligation to explain why the luxury and his declared assets are not consistent with the asset declaration”, Zhupa declared.
She added that based to an internal document of the OSCE, Edi Rama had in 2015 a wealth of 200 million EUR: “Albanians want to know why their children live in dormitories and schools without heating systems, while Edi Rama has an 18.000 EUR fireplace. This hidden wealth is the reason why Edi Rama voted against the vetting of politicians”, Zhupa said, adding that Edi Rama should no longer hide behind his wife, but answer for the luxury in which he lives.
