Democratic Party accused the Prime Minister, Rama and the Speaker of
Parliament, Meta, that they’re protecting their MP friend, Koço
Kokëdhima.
According to the opposition they’re acting with two standards. For the two MPs that were declared enemies the procedure was urgent, meanwhile for their friend MP there is procrastination.
Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Edmond Spaho, said that Koço Kokëdhima was caught red-handed in profiting state funds in more than 150 cases and for that reason they have to lift his parliamentary immunity. The opposition has three weeks that has sent the request, but still no meeting is withheld for this purpose.
After this declaration the Parliament gave a swift response that there are no two standards. The Speaker of Parliament did refer to the Council of Mandates the request of the opposition.
The Parliament declared that this case will be processed on April 6-th and is not investigated due to the absence of the MP and his lawyer.
