The Democratic Party accused Prime Minister Rama and Parliament Speaker
Meta of attacking President Nishani by removing his competence to
appoint the Director of the High Inspectorate of Declaration and Audit
of Assets (HIDAA), in order to keep the institution under their control.
MP Oerd Bylykbashi declared that the majority is preparing to remove Nishani’s competences as Chief Commander of the Armed Forces.
“The majority is removing another competence of the President, by taking his right to appoint the candidates for the HIDAA. The appointment of the new HIDAA director by the votes of the Parliament after it is proposed by the President, is a mechanism that guarantees the independence of the HIDAA. By removing this independence, Rama and Meta completely ruin the independence of this institution. This is another attack against the President and the independence of institutions that are guaranteed by the President. The majority is preparing to remove the President’s competences as Chief Commander of the Armed Forces. The majority has also removed his competence for proposing the candidates of the Supreme Court, so that the President can decree only people that have ties with Rama and Meta, so that this court can finalize their affairs”, declared the Democratic Party MP, Oerd Bylykbashi.
