In an extraordinary press conference, the Democratic Party said that the brother of Interior Minister Fatmir Xhafaj is still continuing his criminal activity.
Enkelejd Alibeaj and Ervin Salianji published an audio recording between the Minister’s brother and another person, called “Collaborator X”.
In this phone conversation, Minister Xhafaj’s brother is heard speaking to another person, telling him to “stop this, no more with this, because they are being attacked”, possibly referring to the accusations of the Democratic Party.
For the DP, there are three important facts for how Xhafaj has violated the law to stop the extradition of his brother:
“1) Xhafaj has not served his sentence because Xhafaj is not doing his job as Interior Minister. 2) As Chairman of the Commission of Laws, Xhafaj has falsified documents for stopping the extradition of his brother, 3) Xhafaj is not implementing the Antimafia law to touch his brother.
DP insists that Xhafaj’s brother is still living with money deriving from drug traffic, since his assets were not seized, as the Antimafia law requires.
