DP: “PM Rama has vetoed against electronic ballot count”

The Democratic Party claims Prime Minister Rama vetoed against the
application of electronic ballot counts, “killing this way the electoral
reform”.

“The Socialist Party has practically killed the electoral reform with today’s veto. Electronic voting, digital identification through fingerprints and electronic ballot counts were the core of free and fair elections”, said Democratic Party MP, Oerd Bylykbashi, after the meeting of the Electoral Reform Commission.

He says that electronic ballot count would keep party militants away from the counting process, which make possible to have a quicker result, and impossible to be manipulated.

“This is the core of the electoral reform, together with decriminalization and funding of parties. There can be no electoral reform without electronic voting. It would be a farce”, Bylykbashi said.
