The Democratic Party denied the public declarations of the Minister of
Social Welfare and the Prime Minister, for the risking of the insurance
of 250.000 public employees. The DO condemns it as a lie.
“The salaries of public employees are not paid without the social insurance bill. The number of public employees has dropped to 87.000, while Rama and Veliaj speak about 250.000”, declared the Democratic Party MP, Sherefedin Shehu.
The democrats say that Rama’s purpose when they speak about 250.000 people is clear: they want to spread panic to those who used to work in the public sector, in order to remove the attention from a destructive pension scheme that is being proposed.
The Democratic Party says that the “social pension” is nothing more than the social welfare that is now simply included in the pension scheme, a move that according to him will have bad consequences.
“With the social pension they halve today’s minimal pension to 67.000 ALL. With triple of the contribution paid in villages, they are removing the farmers’ pension which was equal to those who live in cities, and deepen the injustice, since the scheme of Rama increases pensions for those who have higher salaries and reduces them for those with lower salaries”, Shehu declared.
“The irresponsible declarations for unpaid contributions damage the image of the public sector and encourage tax evasion, since the private sector is creating the idea that not even the government pays social insurance”, the DP added.
