The loyalists of Sali Berisha in the DP opposition have spoken about the defeat in the local elections of May 14, but no one is talking about resignation.
Berisha’s candidate for the municipality of Tirana, Belind Kelliçi, said: “I don’t know how reflection can be related to resignation, reflection means to see what has not gone well within us, regarding resignation, refer to the party’s statute and get them answers.”
Tomor Alizoti is the only one who spoke of deep reformation, leaving open the option of leaving the leadership. “I am for total reformation. Resignation? They understand it themselves”, he stated.
Even the old DP figure Jozefina Topalli is not satisfied with the model of being the opposition in this second return of Sali Berisha.
“These were not elections, the ones in power will not stop as there is no opposition with the former president’s model”, said Topalli, referring to former DP head Lulzim Basha.
