In their first public reaction, the Democratic Party supports the
actions against the drug traffic, but they considered the operation of
the police in Lazarat as a “thuggish spectacle” from the Interior
Minister, Saimir Tahiri.
“The pseudo campaign of Rama and Tahiri is just an tactical effort with propaganda and selective actions just to fool the world. The drug traffickers that are hired by the government cannot fight against drugs. They may retaliate against each other, but this is not a fight against the drug traffic, but a fight to secure the market. The drug cannot be fought by drug users and traffickers, but from the alliance of honest people”, says the declaration distributed for the media by the Democratic Party office.
The Democratic Party Parliament Member and former Interior Minister, Flamur Noka, had made an earlier statement:
“I support the police, but this is a thuggish show of Tahiri. They have turned the entire country into Lazarat. The life of every citizen and police officer is the priority, and they will be held responsible for this”, Noka declared after the meeting of the Security Commission.
The former Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, reacted on Facebook by referring to yesterday’s conference of the Interior Minister, Saimir Tahiri.
“Dear friends, this photo is not coming from the Columbian FARK or terrorist groups. This is the spokesperson of Edi Rama, who has chosen masks and a hangar of helicopters to hide his connections with crime, in order to find credibility that he will fight crime. A pathetic imitation”, Berisha declared.
Right after the declaration of the Democratic Party, Prime Minister Rama reacted through the social networks:
“The Democratic Party said nothing about the attacked journalists and the wounded police officers, but they support the police only if they don’t listen to the Interior Minister”, Rama declared.
