Opposition MP Rudina Hajdari in today’s session of the Assembly said that the government has unfairly managed the budget in dealing with the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to her, the PPP concessions were primary for the government and not the citizens, because with the assistance of only 40,000 ALL in 3 months, the citizens have to spend only 200 ALL a day.
Hajdari said that the government has received 400 million euros in aid from the the international community to cope with the pandemic situation and has invested in citizens only 100 million euros of these, while the rest has gone to business concessions.
“This inequality is total abuse, during 2020 the pseudo-left government has given Albanian citizens in the biggest crisis 110 million euros, so every citizen who has received assistance only 2 thousand old lek per day. Tell me, Prime Minister, how he can one go through the day by 200 lek during the pandemic.
“This great crisis came because you yourself paid the concessions much more than the citizens, why the government calculates 120 million euros of concessions or PPP public-private partnership. It is not true that this government did not have the financial opportunity as if you make a simple calculation, 50 million euros were collected from the EU plus 170 million euros from the IMF, amount to 400 million euros received to cope with the situation. This figure shows that it was 400 million euros for citizens and businesses. But what did the government do with these 400 million euros. Why did they help with only 100 million euros? Why weren’t the money taken to where they were destined? We could have passed this economic crisis, we could have given a minimum salary to the citizens “, said among others Hajdari.
