The Democratic Party MP, Luciano Boci, said that the illegal
surveillance that the Minister Interior has done is the strongest
evidence that the rule of law has fallen, and that the state has been
replaced by a mafia styled organization with their own code of action.
“This violation of the national security and of the basic human rights shows the deep division between the two worlds of our country. We have all seen how the police uses violence against people in Shkoder, for selling the tobacco they have planted on their own. Because they consider it informality. A barber ended up in prison for not having a sale receipt, while the Minister of Interior passes in Customs a surveillance equipment, without registering it, without declaring it. He uses that equipment how he likes. All of this without authorization from the Minister of Interior. When the scandal is revealed, they don’t accept investigation, but put obstacles to it and does not hand over the illegal surveillance equipment. Is there any bigger informality than this?”, Boci said in a declaration for the media.
