The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, told his supporters that the
June 25th result not only was pre-determined, but it was also done
before his political agreement with Rama.
“It wasn’t an electoral process. It was entirely manipulated. It was the start of an electoral campaign for us, but it was the end of an electoral campaign for our opponents, who had sealed everything”, Basha said.
Basha said the online poll of Prime Minister Rama for the priorities of the next government was considered bu Basha as an evidence of hypocrisy for Albanians.
“It is clear for every Albanian that Edi Rama has no program, no plan to rule Albania. It is clear that this majority is fictive and it doesn’t fulfill the citizens’ will. It represent this will through vote purchase, which was proven in these elections, as it buried our fragile democracy”, Basha said.
“It is our duty to unite within our home, unite around our moral with the good will to guarantee a free society”, Basha said.
The other candidate, Eduard Selami, believes that the Democratic Party needs a new spirit and more democracy.
“We need to bring back democracy within the Democratic Party, a democratic function and create a new spirit that must aspire not only democrats, but the entire country”, Selami said.
