The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, said that every list sent at
the Central Election Commission is illegal, and that the process is in a
legal collapse.
The Democratic Party and their allies undertook a final step to delegitimize the elections of June 18th, claiming that a technical decision of the Central Election Commission to calculate the deadlines for handing over the registration lists, was actually wrong.
To achieve this, the opposition has used the only chance remaining within the system, a complaint at the Electoral College made through the Agrarian Party of Agron Duka, whose party is the only one that was registered in these elections.
Their argument is that the final deadline was April 28th, not 29th, after calculating 50 days before the election day. The Electoral College will have to take a decision within ten days, and Basha says that their verdict will be the moment that will decide the further actions of the opposition.
The Democratic Party has warned a protest this Saturday, but the details about it are still reserved.
