While the Democratic Party is holding its own elections, the Mat branch
was the first one to hold them. The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim
Basha, warned important changes in the forums of the political force he
is leading after Berisha’s resignation.
It is still early to talk about new names, but Basha underlined that the free vote of the members is the basis of the career in this party. The DP leader noted that the elections in their party are bringing new people.
“With these elections based on the status and the instructions issued, our party has experienced a basic recovery and circulation. This brings new energies in the leadership, new goals, new inspirations, without which a political force has no life and no future. The circulation of political leaders of every level is a principle of modern democratic parties that is being implemented and that should be implemented in the future, at any time, especially when a party has lost the elections, goes in opposition and prepares a new start, as we are doing”, Basha declared.
The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, declared that an unnegotiable criterion is the integrity of the elected and their positive image in public. According to Basha, the distinction between the Democratic Party leaders and those that are being promoted today by the government, should be very clear for the Albanian people.
“The Democratic Party has a challenge, a civil and national mission. We must reflect for any single case of our own people who slip away from our principles and values. We must respond with determination, through good people that have been created by the Albanian family and society, or created by Albanian schools and foreign schools where the Albanian people study, to the sinister project of our adversaries, a project that is based in promoting drug traffickers and people with a criminal past in the administration, by humilitaing the people and by putting in danger the democratic future of our country”, Basha declared.
During this month the Democratic Party will elect their new leaders in districts, a process that is expected to continue until July and that will have its peak at the meeting of the National Convent, the highest forum of the Democratic Party, which has the mandate to change the status of the party and select the National Council.
