DP boycotts Parliament

The incident that took place in Parliament was enough of a reason for
the Democratic Party to announced a boycott of the Parliament. The DP
leader accused the majority leaders, Edi Rama and Ilir Meta of having
violence as part of a strategy that started in 2009, when the DP says
that the SP engaged criminals to take power.

“This strategy started in 2009, engaging criminals to take power. The criminal alliance of Edi Rama and Ilir Meta peaked on June 23rd, when criminals were vested with power. This plan has been put in place today, crowned by this flagrant act of violence against the opposition. This is a very dangerous scenario, letting crime lead the government, which has been warned by the US Secretary and the Head of the European Popular Parties, Joseph Daul”, Basha declared.

The opposition say that although they will be missing in Parliament, they will continue what they call a battle against crime that is putting the country’s integration in danger.

”The opposition will continue to report the criminal ties in this majority in name, but minority in values. We will fight ashes to ashes and dust to dust will crime. We will send a strong signal to the Rama-Meta duo, who are engaging crime to shut the opposition up”, Basha declared.

It is still unknown what this strong signal will be. What is sure is that this is the second decision of the opposition to boycott the Parliament in a very short time. The first one started after MP Sali Berisha was suspended for 10 days from the Parliament for the vocabulary he used against the Ministers, which was broken with the visit of the President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso.
