The Democratic Party says that there are facts which prove that the
government has provided protection for the gang of Emiljano Shullazi.

In fact, the opposition never mentioned the names of the gang that they called “the gang that terrorized Tirana”, but they identified their functions.

“The police officer serves to the gang. The gang member enters the Socialist Party offices. All government structures served to the gang leader yesterday, from hospitals and to those who accompanied him to his house. There are concerning data that the police has searched houses of businessmen who have been fined by criminal gangs”, declared the head of the Democratic Party Parliament leader, Edi Paloka.

By accusing the authorities of disinforming the public and lacking of transparency in favor of the gang, the Democratic Party articulated one name only that according to them is responsible and that is hiding behind the silence.

“Only Edi Rama stays silent. No word, no reaction. This criminal activity was certainly done under his knowledge. Rama took advantage of the gang’s services during the electoral campaign in taking votes with violence. They allow them to terrorize businessmen and citizens. He gives them police officers for protection. He takes care of the gang so that no evidence can be found, and so that their leader will not stay at the Police more than a few minutes”, Paloka declared.

But for Prime Minister Rama this is slander. His press office reacted immediately and considered these accusations a slander.

Prime Minister Rama has openly challenged the opposition by charging the legal office at the Prime Minister’s office to prepare a civil and criminal lawsuit against the Democratic Party.

“Edi Paloka must provide evidence for what he has said. If there is a single evidence, Prime Minister Rama is ready to resign”, says the Prime Minister’s press office, who says that those who say this must answer in front of the law.

Rama said that the ugly habit of lying to the public opinion with slanders cannot continue any longer without a confrontation at the justice institutions.
