The Draft Budget and the tax package will be discussed this Saturday.
Although the session might seem plainly technical, it might be one of
the most interesting ones ever held for the draft laws that follow the
tax package.
The Democratic Party has planned more than 30 amends that completely change the government’s project for the Albanian economy in the next year. Top Channel has secured these amends that have one thing in common: none of them is part of the electoral program that the Democratic Party presented during the elections. All opposition’s amends are promises of the Socialist Party during the campaign, or propositions that aim to return some taxes in their current level.
The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, declared for Top Channel that the opposition has this solution for changing the government’s budget and holding the majority responsible for not keeping its electoral promises, by proving that Prime Minister Rama lied to take their votes, according to the DP. These promises for the DP are reducing the public debt, the government’s spending, the free health care amends. They say that the Budget 2014 proves the electoral fraud for the free legalization process, for reducing the excise for fuels and removing it completely for farmers, and also removing the VAT for basic food.
By reminding the promise that the government would reduce taxes for 95% of the Albanians, the DP declared that the government should pass them and show that it is the government of kept promises, and not the government of lies.
