DP: “25 candidates of Magistrate school selected without transparence”

The Democratic Party Head of the Public Order and Security department,
Enkelejd Alibeaj, denounced the competition for choosing the new 25
magistrates for lacking of transparency.

“Today enters in effect the new evaluation law, and Edi Rama took the first visible step to capture justice. This law foresees that the Magistrate School is tasked to organize a competition for 25 candidates, judges and prosecutors.

According to this law and the existing law for the Magistrate School, the first phase of a competition is opening the applications for those interested. The 20-year-old tradition is that the waiting period was transparent to the public and any media, and lasts one month. Those interested get updated with the vacancies during this time, and then they were tested for their knowledge.

Today, media outlets simply notify that the Magistrate School had organized the admission competition without announcing it beforehand, without making public the posts. This happened only because the new law has entered in effect.. Everything was made in the darkness. This is a law violation, because if applications are collected before October 10th, they are all illegal”, the press release says.
