Many citizens waited for hours today at the borders of Albania, as they had to follow the restrictive rules that came into force today.

An Albanian doctor from Northern Macedonia, who sought to enter Albania through the Qafe Thana checkpoint, said among other things, that it is criminal to ‘test children aged 6-11’.

“We wanted to spend a few days of holidays, but we are stuck here. Suddenly we were blocked at the entry point of Qafe Thana. While for children 6-11 years old to have a PCR test, I do not consider this to be the standard of a European country, the home country is stealing from us in the middle of the road, in day light. I do not know who is this ghost company that applies tests on children, I am a doctor by profession.

“I do not know if there is any country in the region that does this, in every EU country this test costs 80 cents, in our country (Northern Macedonia) 2 euros, while here in Albania they want 25 euros to do it.

“I often test myself because of working with patients with Covid”, says the doctor from Tetovo.
