The 25 million EUR tender of the Ministry of Innovation, which has
received accusations for corruptive procedures, is about the conclude.
The Audio-Visive Media Agency leader (AMA), Endira Bushati, asked that
all TV operators should decide about their broadcasting format until
July 5th.
Mrs.Bushati brought three alternatives which have a high financial cost for the media operators.
“The tender for the construction of the public TV networks is about to end in these days. After this, the Albanian Public Television (TVSH) is obliged to define the fees for the support of these operators in its network, always oriented by the cost. July 5th is the date when the new law enters in effect. They can be supported on the public television network, in the national private digital networks, or they can agree with 70% of the operators in a given district to build their own network by joining forces, so that none of the televisions can lose”, Bushati declared.
The operators asked about the cost before taking the final decision. According to the strategy made by Ministry of Innovation, Technology, Information and Communication (MITIC), TVSH will have a wide space and the cost for the construction of a digital platform mounts up to 18 million EUR.
The concretization of this plan is expected to start in June, and it will be realized through the public tax of the Albanian citizens. This tender has been accused by the opposition Parliament Members, who have also filed a penal lawsuit against Minister Pollo, saying that MITIC is interfering with the legal status of AMA and TVSH, holding this way a tender that should be planned by them.
