Romeo Kara, the key witness for the trial against the former
administrator of DIA, Kastriot Ismailaj, arrived at the Court of Tirana
under strict security measures.
He was accompanied by five special police officers, who stayed by him all the time. Top Channel has learned that the state police has offered protection to the former CEZ legal specialist, who feels threatened because of the testimony.
Ismailaj was able to make the court reject a hearing session with Kara, claiming he could not hear from behind the bulletproof glass. This forced Judge Vjollca Spahiu postpone the session to the next week.
Ismailaj is accused of embezzlement, involving 5 million EUR from the CEZ paid bills.
