SPAC, the (Special Prosecution Against Corruption) will start operating after a few months, but the rigorous “41 bis” detention regime, which will make it harder for organized criminals to keep their contacts with the outside world, will  be functional within September, at Tirana’s “Prison 313”, where all the equipments have been already installed.

Sources from the Prosecution of Serious Crimes confirmed for Top Channel that after a meeting held between the highest officials from the Secret Service and the Penitentiary Service, it was decided that the 41 Bis service will enter in effect within a few days.

Based on the law, the final say about this service will be given by the Minister of Justice, Etilda Gjonaj, who organized a special meeting with the persons in charge after the installation was completed.

Confidential sources in this meeting say that the minister has asked the Prosecution of Serious Crimes for information about two cases that could have the convicts registered at the 41 Bis prisons, also based on Secret Service information.

These persons, although imprisoned, are still able to communicate with other organized crime members outside, continuing this way with their criminal activities.
