Experts condemn the destruction of the Prespa e Vogël lake by burning of the reeds 16/11 21:14
After the Socialist Party representatives accused the construction that
will replace the “7 Xhuxhat” prank, as another green massacre of the
Tirana Municipality and Institution of Culture Monument, the latter
reacted by saying that they have been asking for years that this
children park should be removed from the Culture Monument list.
“The Municipality asked in 2010 to review the list of monuments. We made this request to the last ministers, who refused. Let’s see if the third minister will remove it”, declared Apollon Brace, Director of the Institution of Culture Monuments.
For Brace, this park should not be on the list of culture monuments, since it is abandoned. On the other hand he accuses that voices are raised only for concrete monuments, and not the destruction of church murals.
“Based on the law, a monument can be considered something with cultural and historic values, and this park is not one of them. Some of it is abandoned and the rest has turned into parking. Why everyone complains about concrete buildings, when the situation of churches and their murals is much worse. Mr.Lame must be fixated to concrete”, Brace declared.
The Director invites Artan Lame and other members of the Cultural Heritage Forum to sit and discuss the protection of monuments.
