After eight months of a quick growth, Albanian exports stopped this June.

The Institution of Statistics reported that Albania exported 22.5 billion ALL of goods the past month, a number almost similar to June 2016.

Data show that the stagnation was caused by the group of minerals and energy, which dropped with 2.6 billion compared to June 2016, completely damaging the growth of exports in other groups.

According to INSTAT, the biggest impact came from the dropping oil exports.

A considerable amount of oil that is produced in Patos Marinza now is not exported anymore, but it is processed for the internal market.

However, despite this drop, exports for the past 6 months have increased with 13.5%.

INSTAT says that the export of goods for the first half of the year has reahed 133 billion ALL, or 15 billion more than the first semester of the past year.

Imports were increased at almost the same value. The commercial deficit for the first semester of the year has remained unchanged at 162 billion ALL, or more than 1.2 billion EUR.
