For the past 17 years, Ervin Qosja had planted orange trees, extending the planted tree area each year.
This year he decided to cut them, since the market price doesn’t cover even his cost.
“I have sold my product for 100 ALL a kilogram, which doesn’t let me cover my spneing”, Qosja says.
Besides the market, cold temperatures were another disfavor for Albanian farmers in Lushnje. For this reason, farmers demand the government for help, to cover damages.
Ervin and Kajmak Qosja are the only ones in Lushnja who grow citrus fruits.
