For the OSCE representative for Media Freedom, Harlem Desir, the economic status of journalists remains one of the most pressing matters in Albania.
Desir completed his two-day visit in Tirana, where he met with Albanian officials.
“The economic status of journalists remains one of the most pressing matters in the country. Working without contracts and facing salary delays,… this creates a very high self-censuring risk”, Desir said, underlining the need to respect journalists rights.
Desir said that the relations between the Albanian authorities and the OSCE are excellent and very constructive. He offered assistance to keep improving the media situation in Albania.
