The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, did not testify at the Parliamentary Investigation Commission for the deportation of six Turkish citizens from Kosovo.
Thaci argued that there have been serious legal violations by this commission, starting with the engagement of an international expert for drafting a final report. The President said that the commission should be the one under invesetigation, in these conditions.
The Chairman of the Commission, Xhelal Sveqla, explained that the expert was proposed by the members of the commission, and that his agreement has been verified by the Parliament’s offices.
The Turkish citizens were deported last year, after a request made by Turkey, who claimed that they were involved with the coup. The way how they were deported raised a lot of questions among Kosovo institutions.
