The Albanian Parliament Speaker and his delegation attended a dinner
organized by the Danish Parliament Speaker, Mogens Lykketoft.
Lykketoft says that the Danish Parliament doesn’t consider the EU enlargement closed.
“Here in the Danish Parliament we agree that the European project will never be complete without fully integrating the Western Balkans. You have applied for the EU candidate status. We are waiting for the recommendations of the European Commission and we hope that you will receive the status”, Lykketoft declared.
The Albanian Parliament Speaker, Ilir Meta, underlined once again the importance and the main purpose of his visit in Denmark.
“Allow me to express our deep gratitude for the constant support of Denmark in Albania’s European integration process, and for the positive contribution that Denmark gives in the region, especially in Kosovo. I am here to guarantee our Danish counterparts that the main priority of our national, political and parliamentary agenda, and the agenda of the entire political spectrum in Albania, is the Euroepan integration of our country and of all our neighbors”, Meta declared.
Meta attended a meeting with the Danish Minister of Food, Agriculture and Fishing, Dan Jorgensen. The main topic of this discussion was increasing cooperation between the two countries in agriculture.
