The
Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, attended an official visit
in Denmark today, one of the five skeptic countries that requested more
time in December for the European Union candidate status of Albania.
During his visit, the Albanian Chief Diplomat met with the Danish homologue, Lidegaard. In this meeting they discussed about deepening the cooperation between the two countries and about the European perspective of Albania.
Bushati updated Lidergaard about the reforms undertaken by the new government, especially in the fight against corruption and organized crime. He thanked Denmark about the constant support given to the integration processes of our country.
“Albania’s EU integration remains a major priority fo the government and enjoys wide support from all Albanian citizens and politicians”, Mr.Bushati declared.
The visit of the Albanian Chief Diplomat in Copenhagen coincides with the 44th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and with the publishing of the first data from the European Parliament elections, where the political anti-EU forces triumphed in countries such as Britain and France, and had a significant increase in other countries.
