The Democratic Party MPs visited the Mayor of Kamza, Xhelal Mziu, in his
prison cell. Mziu is arrested over corruption and power abuse charges.
The Democratic MPs say that this support that ie being given to the Mayor doesn’t mean that the opposition is rejecting the accusations, but that the opposition stands against what they call a politically manipulated process, violation of human rights and double standards in treating the same accusations for a Mziu’s counterpart.
What the Democrats consider even worse, is the public denigration of the Mayor’s family, by producing untrue facts.
“The media says that his wife has been reported too, which is untrue. They say that a quantity of gold has been found in her jewelry store, and also a stamp of the Kamza Zonal Electoral Center, which is also untrue. This is a lynching against this family and reminds us of the dictatorship times. Those who have orchestrated this campaign are playing with the fire, because justice might delay, but it will not forget”, Bumci declared.
