Albanian actor Demir Hyskja died aged 79, after a three-year battle with different illnesses. Born in Elbasan, Hyskja dedicated his all life to acting in Albania, but since his wealth deteriorated he was not seen in town as often, passing most of the time in a notorious neighborhood there. It was there where he passed away in the presence of family members, friends and relatives.
Born in January 1, 1937, Hyskja played for more than three decades in various movies and a total of 50 different characters. He stared in 24 movies and has been decorated with several titles like “Naim Frashëri First Class”. In 1969 he is honoured with “Artist Emeritus” title and in 1979 with “Artist of he People”. He also served four terms as member of parliament.
Tributes are due to be held on Sunday 11:00 AM at the “Skampa” Theater in Elbasan.
