Montenegro is unilaterally inspecting 8000 hectares of Kosovo territory, which they claim passed to them through the agreement signed by the previous government, although it hasn’t entered in effect yet, according to Koha Ditore.
According to the newspaper, the new members of the State Commission for Marking and Maintaining the State Border are also witnessing the implementation of the document, which has not received its status as international agreement.
One day ago they were on terrain, verifying the border line, and saw how Montenegrin authorities are controlling the territory which is claimed as Kosovo’s.
The report comes in a time when the US State Department Assistant Secretary, Hoyt Brian Yee, met with President Hashim Thaci while he plans to talk with the Parliament Speaker, Kadri Veseli, and Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj.
This is the first visit of a US high-level official after the new elections. Before visiting Prishtina, Yee was in Belgrade where he had remarks about Belgrade’s efforts to keep good relations with Russia, while they plan EU accession.
