Passengers at the Tirana Airport were irritated by delays. The Tirana-Bergamo flight was delayed with 14 hours; the Tirana-Malpensa flight, 5 hours. Both flights are operated by Blue Panama, which has been present in Albania for the last six days.
Daniela Xhixha, representative of the company in Albania, admitted that there were delays, but she adds that the company made the impossible to inform passengers in time.
Xhixha says that delays happen in every country, but there is a European regulation that defends the rights of passengers.
“Passengers can chose to have the ticket completely reimbursed. They can use the flight in another day, which will be offered for free by the company. If the passenger chooses to travel that same day, the company pays for the accommodation”, Xhixha added.
Her advice for passengers: “It is very important for passengers to get informed about the status of their ticket and of their flight before they travel”, Xhixha said.
