Albanian authorities have taken the Rinas airport under control.
The heavy vehicles of the Military Police were seen today, securing the perimeter.
The Minister of Defense, Olta Xhacka, said that this should have been done by the concessionary from the very start.
However, President Meta asked the Chief of Staff to respond for this engagement of the military in the airport.
The answer was given by Minister Xhacka, who said that there is no violation of the Constitution, and the military has been dislocated not because we are at war, but because part of the airport is a military base and Albania has security commitments towards NATO.
The Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, said that the concessionary company has not fulfilled the recommendations for increased security that were requested after the first robbery in 2016.
