The Minister of Defense, Olta Xhacka, received this Tuesday the Polish Minister of National Defense, Antoni Macierewicz.
In a joint press conference, Minister Xhacka said that in cooperation with the USA, they will place a radar for observing Albania’s air space.
The Albanian Minister underlined that with the normative act passed in Parliament, the government has increased the defense budget: “400 million ALL more for the budget of 2017, which will be used for the modernization of the Armed Forces”, Xhacka declared.
She valued Poland’s support towards the NATO accession. “We talked about establishing the Center of Excellence for studying the phenomenon of foreign fighters”, Xhacka added.
Minister Macierewic honored with the “Polish Campaign Stars” award two Albanian vice colonels, Silvana Lahi and Dritan Muka, who served in Afghanistan together with the Polish personnel.
