The debates between Rama and Berisha focused on who is responsible for
the decoration of some persecutors during the dictatorship time,
including the one who tortured Zef Pllumi and Sami Rrepishti.
Answering to the accusations of PM Rama, the former Albanian PM explained the law Rama referred to.
“It is for those who were part of the war. The law gives no names. As any other mentally diseased he cannot find blame on himself, but on Berisha”, Berisha declared.
In parallel with this conference, Edi Rama published an official document which shows that Shyqyri Coku was declared a fist category veteran by the government of 1995, led by the party of Sali Berisha, and that the laws specifies that the Ministry of Defense cannot investigate who are those who receive this benefit.
Berisha said that if Rama wasn’t a hypocritical, he would have canceled the decorations with a government decision. But according to Berisha, this is why Rama took the Lustration law at the Constitutional Court.
