Debates in Parliament over Bankers Petroleum

Different from what expected, the Marinza explosion was not very present in today’s Parliamentary debates.

The reaction for the absence of the Parliament Members came from the former Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli. The Socialists have another argument why they think the Democratic Party has defended this company.

MP Jozefina Topalli declared that what was seen in Marinza is horrible, and that the Parliament of another country would have not been empty on such a day.

MP Taulant Balla answered by asking Mrs.Topalli why she didn’t mention the name of the company, and then he continued:

“One of the candidates of the Democratic Party for the Fier Municipality is the Director of Bankers Petroleum, who sponsored the campaign of the Democratic Party in 2013”, Balla declared.

For the democrats, the government’s behavior with Bankers is a bad example for foreign investors. For Brace, everyone should be equal in front of the law.

MP Florion Mima declared: “The Prime Minister turned into the judge of another investor who worked with the oil. He had invested 1.2 billion USD from which our government has profited 500 million USD without doing any work”, Mima declared.

Erjon Brace’s answer: “There has been no control over this company. The 1.2 billion they declared need to be proved with bills. You have given them the right to not have measurement equipments in the places where they collect and sell oil. This is the problem”.
