The opposition accused the government of transferring a series of public services to the private sector as monopolies.
“The government has the obligation to offer these social services and also the social help, but what is happening here has a lot of problems and is one of the biggest damages that is being made by the end of this 8-year mandate”, declared the Socialist MP, Erjon Brace.
The opposition Mps declared that the cost that is being given to the citizens goes above the 10% of the GDP.
“More than 1 billion EUR paid by the Albanian citizens without having any improvement of the services, and without any direct profit”, Brace declared.
“The services are going from the state monopoly to a private monopoly, rather than having an open market with competition”, declared Mimi Kodheli.
The Minister of Finances, Ridvan Bode, declared that the government will keep transferring the public service monopolies to the private sector because this policy reduces corruption.
“I have realized 5 concessions, and if I could I would have realized 15 others, to help improve the service to the Albanian public. Everyone who feeds corruption can go to the private sector, so that the quality will be better and the fines against the citizen will be lower”, Bode declared.
According to Bode, this policy has started giving the first positive results.
“Those who were scared when this initiative started, were interested about a competition market. Ask them if the fiscal stamps are a good or a bad thing. I have received positive answers even by those who refused it in the beginning”, added the Minister of Finances.
After the debates, the Parliament approved only with the votes of the majority a concession that was given to an American company for the customs scanning service. The US Company will charge 39 EUR for every vehicle that enters the Albanian customs.
Balla: 25 million affair of the outgoing government
The Socialist MP, Taulant Balla, accused the government of closing a corruptive tender of 25 million EUR for the digital network license.
“It was never been seen or heard to give the project, the funds, the construction and exploitation rights to only one company. This smells corruption”, Balla declared.
Balla added that besides the fact that it was approved secretly, accusations about this tender also come from international prestigious companies that wanted to be part of the tender.
“A German company that showed its interest for this tender addressed to the state institutions and declared that they were pressured in Albania to make the tender with an Albanian partner, otherwise there would be no license”, Balla declared.
