While there are many debates in Kosovo regarding the Special Court, there is a book expected to be published soon, which praises the figure of Hashim Thaci, president of Kosovo.
After many accusations, the Kosovo Presidency released a statement denying that the institution sponsored the biography, which says that the merit for convincing international partners to carry out a military intervention in Kosovo, goes to Thaci.
The book is titled “New State, Modern Statesman: Hashim Thaci – A Biography”, and it is written by Roger Boyes and Suzy Jagger. Boys is a British journalist and editor of “Times”, specialized on writing political biographies. Suzy Jagger works as vice editor for the same media outlet.
The 320-page-long book is being published by Biteback Publishing and will be on sale on January 16th. The President, who, according to local analysts will also be at risk by the lawsuits at the Special Court, declared that he has not changed his opinion about the creation of this court, which he considers a historic injustice to Kosovo and the KLA.
For the President, the initiative of the MPs, who want to repeal the law, is not to challenge the court, but an alternative similar to the ones in other countries of former Yugoslavia. Thachi added that regardless, he will sign and decree any decision taken by the Parliament of Kosovo.
