Day of Greek genocide against Chameria

The Albanian community in Austria gathered in Vienna to commemorate June
27th 1944, known as the day of genocide against the Chameria Albanians
from the Greek chauvinism.

Many members of the community were present in this commemoration that was being held for the first time in Austria, together with representatives from the Albanian and Kosovo embassies in Vienna.

Present in this ceremony was the Albanian Parliament Member, Tahir Muhedini, as representative of the Albanians in Chameria. The meeting was organized by the coordination council of Albanian associations in Austria, and the opening speech was held by the Chairman of the Albanian Institution of Culture in Vienna, Petrit Begati-Kasemi.

Petrit Begati-Kasemi declared that the tragedy of the Chameria Albanians is an open book of the national and human pain.

Parliament Member Tahir Muhedini thanked those who were present for the respect they were showing to the tragedy of their cham brothers.

The meeting continued with documentaries that brought to attention the bitter events and testimonies from the survivors.

The activity concluded with an appeal approve by everyone present, and led by high-rank representatives from the EU, OSCE and the Foreign Ministers of Austria, Albania and Kosovo.
