Muslim believers throughout Albania celebrated the Eid ul Adha or Kurban Bayram, filling the main squares of the cities for prayer.
In Tirana, thousands of believers gathered in the “Skënderbej” square for the prayer at 06:00.
“I pray to God that this Eid serves as an inner reflection for every person. Let’s become stronger in faith towards God, more loving and in solidarity with each other. Let’s extend a helping hand to those who need it most. I pray to God that peace and prosperity prevail in the world among the peoples”, was the prayer of the head of Albanian Muslim Society, Bujar Spahiu.
In Durrës, Muslim believers are celebrating Kurban Bayram, the holiday that symbolizes man’s love and devotion to God.
Since the early hours of the morning, the Muslim believers in Durrës went to the Great Mosque in the center of the city, as well as other mosques near their residences, where at 06:00, they offered prayers for the festive day.
The head of the Albanian Muslim community Spahiu said that this important day should serve as “an opportunity for reflection for all of us, to return to tolerance, forgiveness and humility”, while in his speech there was also a message of peace and calm for the tensions in the north of Kosovo.
